Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCC)
Würth Elektronik MLCC portfolio in a variety of package sizes with characteristics of Class 1 and Class 2
Würth Elektronik MLCC comes in 0402 to 1812 package sizes for general use. This portfolio has ceramic characteristics of Class 1 and Class 2. Class 1 ceramic capacitors are characterized by a small permittivity; thus, they have smaller capacities. Their dependencies of temperature and voltage are linear and their aging is minimal. The general purpose NP0 WCA-CSGP series is an example of a Class 1 capacitor. The Class 2 ceramic capacitors own a higher permittivity which provides higher capacities. Their dependencies of temperature and voltage are non-linear and they show aging behavior. The Class 2 capacitors are X7R and X5R.
Würth Elektronik also offers the WCAP-CSSA series which consists of X1/Y2 and X2 chip monolithic ceramic capacitors created by multilayer technology and are safety components for interference suppression. This series are used as filters in power supplies. The WCAP-CSSA ceramic capacitor series is offered in 1808, 1812, and 2211 package sizes.
