DSCT Series Two-Wire Transmitters

Dataforth DSCT series of loop-powered, 2-wire transmitters interface to a wide variety of voltage, current, temperature, and position-measuring devices. They feature Instrument Class^® performance with excellent accuracy, linearity, stability, and noise specifications, as well as outstanding protection and isolation performance for input, output, and power connections. The DSCT series is capable of operating on the widest of loop-supply power and over the broadest operating temperature range.

DSCT 2-wire transmitters condition and send analog signals from sensors located in the field to monitoring and control equipment, usually computers, located thousands of feet away in central control areas. They accept a wide range of inputs, including millivolt, volt, milliamp, thermocouple, RTD, potentiometer, and slide wire. They operate on power from a 2-wire signal loop and modulate the supply current to represent the input signal within a 4 mA to 20 mA range. 2-wire transmission loops provide very economical connections between sensors and distant control rooms. Since the DSCT operates from the signal loop current, only low-cost, twisted-pair wiring is needed.

The modules have excellent stability over time and do not require recalibration; however, zero and span settings are adjustable up to ±10% to accommodate situations where fine-tuning is desired. The adjustments are made using potentiometers located under the front panel label and which are non-interactive for ease of use.
